Swine Influenza shortly known as Swine Flu, Pig Flu, and Pig Influenza etc. is an infection that is caused by Swine Influenza virus (SIV) and is endemic in pigs. This disease is more prominent in the pigs. The transmission of this kind of virus from pigs to humans usually causes this deadly disease. People with regular exposure to pigs are at high risk to be prone to this infection. The people who take the meat of the infected animal are generally the ones who intake to this disease fastly.

As the cases are repeatedly increasing in our country, the Indian doctors decided to develop their own detection kit for the swine flu patients. As the monsoons approached this year the cases recorded as of now are 548 which also break the record for the previous year cases. The number of the people who died this year has also reached to the 38 and may turn over more if avoided.

The researchers of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Imperial Life Sciences and Ocimum today given the green signal of all the test results and said that they have launched the better test kit for the swine flu. The samples of the test have also been reviewed by ICMR Director General, Dr V M Katoch for the proper and better response to this kit.

Many of the doctors from India also imported the samples of the detection kit from US based applied Biosystems which are quite expensive, but the detection kits that are available in India are cheaper and will cost just one third of the cost of the Kits that are used for the Treatment in the foreign countries.

Even the minister of the department of the Health Administration gave the guidelines on How to use this product and gave the explanation about everything related to it.
