Who was Tahir Hussain?
Tahir Hussain was a director, producer and writer of many Bollywood movies. Tahir born in India but his roots were connected to the ethnic Pashtuns of Afghanistan. Tahir Hussain was also a descendent of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Tahir is the father of the famous Bollywodd actors Aamir Khan and Faisal Khan. He was also the father of Nikhat khan and Farhat Khan. Zeenat Hussain is Taahir’s wife and she is sometimes referred as Zeena Hussain.
Tahir directed Aamir for the first time in 1990 in his debut ‘Tum Mere Ho’. He was the producer of many hit films like Caravan (1971), Madhosh (1974), Jakhmee (1975), Locket (1986), Tum Mere Ho (1990) and Hum Hain Raahi Pyaar Ke (1993). He also directed Tum Mere Ho in his own production. He also wrote the story of this film. He also worked as an actor for the films Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai (1961), Pyaar Ka Mausam (1969) And Janam Janam Ka Ssaath (1977).
Tahir Hussain started his filmy journey in 1957 as an assistant director for the films ‘Tumsa Nhi Dekha’ and ‘Dil Deke Dekho’ to his brother Nasir. He also produced ‘Anamika’ in year 1975. Today on 2nd Feb morning, Tahir Hussain has died of a massive heart attack. He is survived with his wife, two sons, Aamir & Faisal, and two daughters Farahat and Nikahat. Tahir Hussain died at the Aamir’s residence in Bandra Mumbai.
When he breathed his last, Aamir and his wife Kiran Rao were in Los Angeles and they are flying back for the funeral. The family sources say that his funeral is to be held tomorrow evening. Imran Khan, the grandson of Tahir Hussain is shooting in New Zealand also returning for funeral. He will be remembered always as the producer, director and writer of the blockbuster Bollywood movies.
